Nestlé's New Ultra-Processed "Vital Pursuit" Foods: A Satirical Solution for Ozempic Users

Addiction Economy thought for Today - a fitting end to our working year with this TFT - Nestle have brought out a range of new ultra-processed foods just for Ozempic and Wegovy users called Vital Pursuit, of 'protein rich' pizzas and pastas. 🤣

"Tom Moe, president of Nestle USA’s meal division, said it will pitch the meals in a new brand, Vital Pursuit, as “food solutions” for people who want to complement their use of the drugs with “the right nutrition - high protein, good fiber, the right minerals,” like potassium and vitamin C."

You really have to laugh. So to counter the effects of the crap food which has made people overweight and turn to drugs for help, they are developing another range of foods which has 'the right nutrition' in the first place. Except of course, as you can see from the pic, it is the same UPF rubbish that got them there in the first place, but in smaller portions with a higher price.

However, it does raise the question that the big food companies are not going away and what actually do we want them to give us. Is it even really possible they can actually provide us with nutritious proper food? What would it look like? What would we want?

One of our findings (tho totally obvious!) is that companies will find a way to make money whatever market you constrain them into. So how are we going to use their money, power and inescapable availability to give us actual food, and what would that food look like?

Thank you to everyone who has interacted with us this year on AETFT, your views, both positive and negative have been hugely helpful in shaping Joe Woof and I's thinking. Have a great Christmas and New Year everyone.
