Reflections on the government’s 10 Year Health Plan via The Rest is Politics
Joe and I are huge fans of Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart’s popular podcast The Rest is Politics. And last night, during their most recent episode they talk about public health prevention and the Government’s 10 year plan (roughly 47 mins in). And at 54 mins they talk a little about the ideas we have spent the last 3 years thinking about. So it amused us to riff off this to give our ideas on the governments recent 10 year health plan instead of a policy brief.
What their thinking showed us is how far we have to go to get a clear understanding in politics of how these addiction economies actually work and the visionary thinking needed needed to create a positive vision for a flourishing society.
And how much work we have to do on that too!
Very excitingly, Joe sent it to The Rest of Politics and Alastair replied on his personal email and said he would share with Rory and think about a programme on this in future. He also referred us to the publication he is editor in chief of The New World (used to be The New European) and we are speaking to them about a long form version for them. Exciting!
